Antenna configuration for CQI reporting definition test. I'm confused

I have an issue with NZP CSI-RS Configuration in this table (Table 6.2.2.1.1.1-1: CQI reporting definition test). It says that the number of the CSI-RS ports (X) should be 2, and antenna configuration should be 2x2. Isn’t this paradoxical? Since based on the TS 38.214 Table 5.2.2.2.1-2, the number of ports is 2xN1xN2, which in this case would be 8.

What am I missing here?

I think 2xN1xN2 applies whenever you have more than 2 ports.

As from the table you can see for NZP CSI -RS only 2 ports are mentioned so this will be not applicable.

Thanks Vijay, That makes sense. However, in MATLAB 5G toolbox, how do I set the antenna configuration to 2x2? If you look at this code, if I set the panel dimensions to 2x2, the NTxAnt will become 8 (number of csirs ports), and if the row number is 3 (as the test table says), MATLAB returns an error that the row number must be 6 or above.

Table 5.2.2.2.1-2 is when you are using more than 2 ports. If you want to transmit only via 2 CSI-RS ports then shouldn’t you use table 5.2.2.2.1-1?
I don’t know about the Matlab toolbox.

Thank you. I’ve a question. In a 2 port case, assuming we have a 2x2 antenna configuration, how does the setup look like? How do we have 2 ports? I’m a bit confused.
