Hi Experts.
For 5G, what scenario leads to use of 32 ports for csi-rs?
I.e. row no 16, 17, 18… any UE supporting it in market?
In my view 16 ports for csi-rs is enough to support TX on 16 layers, i.e. 8 SSB if used.

Most UEs support 32 csi-rs ports.
It is needed for sharp beams and high sinr in DL.
Also good for MU-MIMO.
Please provide UE model, if you have seen.
In logs I have seen number of ports : p8 at max which leads to understanding that UE measuring csi-rs signal from 8 ports to report csi.
Nokia support both 8port configuration. With n1-n2: (2,2) with can support upto 256 beams
Concept is very well explained by @Jaeku_Ryu, if anyone is interested.
