Due to detection of Radio Link Failure (RLF) by UE or network (gNB), the Secondary Node(SN) in (NG)EN-DC is released. In this case, from retainability perspective, the Radio Link is dropped abnormally.

The SN (SgNB) release procedure is initiated by the Master eNB or Master ng-eNB when the UE detects RLF with the following cause:
- Downlink physical layer out of synchronization (T310 Expiry)
- Synchronization Reconfiguration Failure, SCG (synchReconfigFailure-SCG, T304 Expiry)
- Random access problem
- RLC Uplink delivery failure (RLC layer, rlc-MaxNumRetx)
- SRB3 Integrity Failure (srb3-IntegrityFailure)

The SN release procedure is initiated by the Secondary gNB (SgNB) when it detects RLF with the following cause:
- RLC Downlink delivery failure (RLC layer, rlc-MaxNumRetx)

Here I try to depict the SN release procedure due to RLF detection by UE.
