Hi All.
If 2G site ID is XXXG001, 3G site name is XXXU001, 4G site name is XXXL001 then what could be the 5G site name?
Can anyone please suggest?
Hi All.

My suggestion is XXXN001.
I agree (XXXN001)
10G will XXXX001
XXXNR001 should be like this…
Hi Experts.
I have one basic doubt regarding Cell site naming.
Is there convention every one follows?
Like “circle_indoor / outdoor /_location_a” etc.?
Or its entirely up to the Operator?
From what I see, I have worked with 5 Operators.
All have different methods in the naming.
The most convinced one is having a site code that reflects the physical site.
Per technology, you can add the RAN indicator (G/U/L/NR)
In the cell name, you can add the band indicator (L18 / G900 / U900 /…)
For the indoor outdoor, it’s related sometimes to the solution itself, whether it’s Ericsson / Huawei / …
OD / ID / IBS / ISC / GD…
But yes, you can add this indicator for (indoor out door) as a prefix in the site code.
The location can be added in the site name as well (as indicator)
West bay = WB
east coast = EC
…
Or as the planner suggests.
Maintaining good naming methodology will save tones of times later when you want to deal with site insights (counts / places /…)
Thanks!
I am trying to figure out here with name “UW_E_T1_OM_HAP40C_N”
As you mentioned “E” is for E/// hat does T1 do here is it TDD?
OM means out door what about HAP40C and also the last letter I see N, A, B,C, D etc. what could it be?
T1- Indicates TDD Carrier 1.
HAP40 means Site ID, C_N means Gamma sector has Bi-Sector Antenna installed.
i.e. 2 TDD Cells are serving having cell name C_C & C_N where N will be the new Bi_Sector cell.
Thanks for the explanation.
Is this defined some where in standard which we can decode or its specific?
Because in some other cases I see B_B, A_A, D_D etc.
How to know the other combination?
A_A, B_B, C_C are usual 3 sectors sites.
Some sites are deployed with 4 sectors, so at those sites you will find additional D_D sector.
And if you find cell name viz A_L, B_M, C_N or D_O, then in those cells Bi sectors are added to enhance the capacity of site.
Thanks!
That makes much clear now!
So usually A,B,C,D for normal sectors.
If Bi-sector LMNO.
Thanks. Appreciate help.
