  • 3GPP Specifies two fallback mechanisms to support IMS voice services as follows:
    • EPS Fallback
      • 5G NR UE is redirected or handed over to E-UTRA connected
        to EPC to make a VoLTE call
    • Inter RAT Fallback in 5GC
      • 5G NR UE is released and redirected or handed over
        to E-UTRA connected to 5GC to make an IMS voice call
