Hello Ericsson experts,

I am encountering an alarm on an Ericsson EvoController (BSC).

Could anyone with experience in this system guide me on how to troubleshoot or resolve this issue? Your support would be greatly appreciated.

I am only seeing the alarm description in Elex.

Description:

Alarm raised with reason PENDING OF PPP SETTING is ceased if any of the following happens:

-Association state changes to DOWN (higher level alarm SCTP ON CP ASSOCIATION STATUS CHANGE is then issued),
-Conditions for alarm raising are no longer valid,
-PPP changed by the operator,
-SM is disabled.

The alarm “PENDING OF PPP SETTING” is triggered when:

  • The path error counter for the newly configured PPP exceeds the current APP error counter.
  • The newly configured PPP is still awaiting the completion of initial path probing.

As a result, the new PPP remains inactive, and its settings are pending.

For resolution, refer to the Operational Instruction: “SCTP ON CP ASSOCIATION STATUS CHANGE.”
