Can we change HARQ settings and what does it depend on?

Hi all,
I’ve heard that changing HARQ settings can affect BLER, Throughput, and SINR

I want to ask are there other factors that will be affected by changing HARQ settings?

Can we change HARQ settings and what does it depend on?

by incresing Harq setting ,below KPIs will be affected

  1. Accessibility improve due to the additional reliability provided by the extra re-transmissions.
  2. re-transmission consumes resources so there would be a small impact throughputs .
  3. re-transmission may generate an uplink interference spike.
    4)call setup time may increase due to more re-transmission.
