Detecting and Avoiding Duplicate PSC in 3G Networks

Hi Experts.

Can anyone suggest if there’s any software in a 3G network that can detect duplicate Primary Scrambling Codes (PSCs)?

I mean, if the same PSC is used, it could cause issues. Any suggestions to avoid this?

If you have access to Huawei’s tools, OMStar or U-Net would be your best options.

However, with a bit of Python scripting, QGIS can also handle this.

Are there any vendors other than Huawei?

The choice of vendor doesn’t really matter; however, another option to consider is Planet, which is owned by Infovista.

I mean, can we check using Omstar and U-Net?

Do you mean Invovisa from TEMS?

UE log?

No, it’s a separate software specifically designed for Planning.

I’m sharing some helpful training materials on using QGIS for PSC and PCI checks:

#PSC QGIS.rar (20.3 MB)

After importing the relevant data, you can get a clear visualization of PSC/PCI.

Clicking on a sector highlights any conflicts in other sectors.

Of course: For those with access to OMStar or GENNEX Cloud, you know there’s no need to go through all this.
