Does the gNB change the RI of a UE from 4 to 2 if the conditions are met for pairing?

Hello Experts,
I have a question regarding the MU-MIMO.
Does the gNB change the RI of a UE from 4 to 2 if the conditions are met for pairing?
If so, does it introduce performance degradation to these UEs for whom RI is reduced to 2.
If not, why?

Vendor is Huawei.

It may degrade user throughput but it does improve cell throughput.
Also user throughput can be improved since it is scheduled in more TTIs.
For example if use is scheduled with 4 layers every 10th TTI means less throughput than if user is scheduled with 2 layers every 2nd TTI.

Above is for a single user consideration.

Okay.
Let’s consider an example.
In case of SU-MIMO, If let say there are 4 UEs and each will get a maximum of 400 DL grants per sec with say RI= 4.
But in case of MU-MIMO, it is possible to get 1600 DL grant per sec by each UE with RI= 2.
So, in this scenario, both the cell throughout and user throughout will increase.
So, can I say MU MIMO is always better than SU MIMO.

What do you think?

Always MU-MIMO is better than SU-MIMO.

So, I can say that user average throughout will improve, right?

But UE’s SINR in SU-MIMO is better in MU-MIMO.

Why that??

Affect from other UEs.

Yes SINR is a little bit less in MU-MIMO than in SU-MIMO, but overall MU-MIMO is better.
