Factors to consider when configuring system from FR1 to FR2

Hi all 5G Experts.

I’m trying to understand the impact and implificion factors that I need to take into account of FR2 handover procedure to FR2 since currently my system (cell) is configured for FR1 and handover of FR1 to FR1 works fine.

What factors need to take into consideration on that case if I want to configure my system to operate on FR2 and considerations need to take into account for handover procedure on FR2 compared to FR1 handover procedure ?

Like what challenges shall I face while moving to FR2?

I think you need to take care of m gap config and other procedures are normal.

What challenges you think high mmWave freq (FR2) could have?

This is the gap mode: When the UE is making measurements for the cells to get the most appropriate one to make the resection.

It’s like the compress mode in 3G.

So now we need more time gap for high mmWave to let UE do measurement or we need less time gap?

That depends on SMTC configuration.

Whether this is a high traffic / highway area or normal one?

Then you have to set the start / end of this gap mode, and whether the source / target cells having the same Central Frequency?

Assume same center freq, high traffic let’s say with mobility, what happen on that case?
