A smart city uses technology to provide services to its citizens and solve urban problems. After the smartphone came the smart home. In the meantime, entire cities are becoming “smart”. In Germany, we adopted the term “smart” from the English language into the German language. Smart has multiple meanings and means clever or intelligent in the context of a city. The smart city improves transport and social services. The goals also include sustainability with the reduction of waste.
