Hello Experts.
Has anyone experienced increased interference and high packet loss percentages due to a surge in VoIP or VoLTE traffic?
This is expected behavior.
VoLTE operates on a GBR (Guaranteed Bit Rate) bearer, meaning it has priority in network scheduling.
In contrast, internet traffic uses a non-GBR bearer, which follows a best-effort approach.
As a result, VoLTE will always take precedence over regular internet data.
Is there any parameter trial we can conduct to reduce packet loss?
As long as the RAN is busy scheduling VoLTE, there won’t be enough resources left for internet traffic.
The best approach is to offload some VoLTE and internet traffic to surrounding cells and layers.
This can help reduce packet loss on the current cell.
