I know in 5G/4G UE geolocation information is there, in 3G, we can activate Minimization of Drive Test features to get accurate geolocation of users.
But in 2G, is it possible to have it?
Is it possible to geolocate user events / signal levels in GSM?
Check for Location Based Services (LBS/LCS) in specific vendor.
LBS can use the SDCCH for signaling between an MS and the MPS/SMLC.
The positioning procedure can be either of CGI/TA, E-CGI , U-TDOA or A-GNSS/A-GPS.
Some GIS use the details of TA, Pathloss, Signal Strength, Cell IDs, timestamp, Call Id, etc from CDR to triangulate the location of UE.
