Yes it is possible, but you need to do a couple of steps before. 1st need to change the file extension to .xml (Just hit F2 when selecting the file then filename.kml → filename.xml) then use import option from excel as xml. As an advice always do a copy of the original file before changing the file extension.

Another way to do it is using a GIS tool like Q-GIS or Global Mapper.

They use to have a conversion tool directly from KML/KMZ to Excel.

The conversion works fine, both way.
