What are the best software to use to monitor the network? I mean, read information from the cells, etc…
Some famous app are GMON and GNETTRACK, but this one seems a lot better:
Network Signal Guru
Excellent app to debug mobile network signal. Its shows band data, mimo and also modulation.
It is an excellent app for network information. Lots of detailed information on LTE signal quality, carrier aggregation, mimo, modulation, VoLTE and other related network information.
Biggest downside is the recurring monthly price for the full version which is way out of reach ($50/mo); Also a downside is root needed.
Without it, certainly the best!

Any alternative (that don’t require rooting the device)?
Nsguru is cheapest and best.
Network Cell Info, Netmonster are good application for monitoring cell parameters.

I am currently using a few, but mainly NSG and Cellular Pro.
Both depend on root for ‘advanced’ functions like cell/band locking.
NSG costs 50$/month
Cellular Pro has two modes, ordinary member and premium, cheaper than NSG.
Check phone compatibility on their websites.
