Hello All, I encountered the following problem on Nokia fsmf, namely the BBU-1 OFFLINE parameter. In this case, the radio unit is active, but the fsmf itself is not accessible via the transport network. As I understand it, Bbu is a mechanism for processing signals from the radio unit and other logic on the network. Sorry, I’m just starting to deal with this kind of equipment, please explain the bbu error as simply as possible and what it might be related to. Sorry for the photo quality too.
Hello, I am facing the same problem
Hello. Have you found a solution?
Greetings, friends,
Normally, I have encountered this type of issue in 850 technology, particularly 2G/3G_850. What happens is that you find the equipment with this failure due to the internal BBU being turned off (faulty). No matter how many tests are conducted, the problem always persists.
-
Cells are ON AIR in UMTS technology but not in GSM.
-
Specifically, an alarm is triggered indicating “No Connection To Unit” (reflected on the BBU but not on the RMODs).
-
Despite applying various tests, turning off the equipment for more than 5 minutes, re-commissioning, resetting configurations, and other methods, it is not feasible to restore the cells to operational status.
As a solution - and the only correction for this failure - it is necessary to replace the FSMF with a new one.
Best regards.
Hello. This was fixed once by replacing the connection cable in the BB EXT connector. BBU stopped working in front of my eyes, the indicator was red in the system. The system saved the dump of the radio module and after that the BBU became offline. After replacing the cable in the BB EXT connector and restarting the power supply, the fsmf - BBU became online again
