I can understand oRan modulation compression for QAM levels but what about circular signals such as PSS?

One of oRan compression techniques is modulation compression. This is lossless compression intended for downlink provided it is category B split 7.2 as I/Q are not precoded so QAM levels arrive at input and the worst case such as 256QAM can be implemented, with lower QAMs as subsets. The problem is that with non-QAM based signals such as Zadoff-Chu of PSS which is part of downlink many signal levels arrive at input. So either these are excluded from compression at extra cost or there is a solution that I don’t know.
