Pos terminal can't conect on mobile network

hello everyone,

i have a problem, some POS terminals can’t connect to a mobile 2g/3g network, equipment is Ericsson. how can i troubleshoot this problem, anyone has any idea?

First Ensure that the area where the POS terminals are located has adequate network coverage for 2G/3G. Weak or no signal can prevent the terminals from connecting.

then verify that the SIM cards inserted in the POS terminals are active, properly inserted, and not damaged. You can try inserting the SIM cards into another device to see if they work properly.
Also check the network settings on the POS terminals to ensure they are set to connect to the correct network type (2G/3G) and that the APN (Access Point Name) settings are correctly configured. Contact your mobile network provider for the correct APN settings if needed.
Try to restart the terminals: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Power off the POS terminals, wait for a few seconds, and then power them back on.
If possible, try using different SIM cards from different mobile network providers to see if the issue is specific to a particular SIM card or network.
Check if there are any firmware updates available for the POS terminals. Updating the firmware can sometimes fix bugs or compatibility issues that may be causing the problem.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it’s best to contact the technical support of the POS terminal manufacturer

Usually the old POS terminals use GPRS/EDGE for communication. So, please check the serving cell of the POS terminal has at least one fixed GPRS/EDGE PDTCH defined or not.

THank you rizwankader and Elmoustapha
do you know how to check PDTCH is it defined on site with ericsson commands in moshell?

Once you are at the site level, you can use the following commands to check if PDTCH is defined or configured:

list all the existing Physical Channels (PCH) configurations on the site, use the command:

rncFunction=1;physicalChannel=1;

To specifically check for PDTCH configuration, you might need to use a command similar to:

rncFunction=1;physicalChannel=1:pdch;

These commands are just examples and might need to be adjusted based on the specific configuration and naming conventions in your network setup.
