Qualcomm has plans for a 6Rx smartphone. Does anyone know which phones will support this?

Yes, but CPE’s support for 8 layers can be ineffective if the survey engineer doesn’t identify the optimal location for the external antenna to achieve a Rank Indicator of 8, especially for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) setups. Proper positioning is crucial for maximizing performance in high-MIMO configurations.

For Rank 8, multipath is essential.
Achieving even Rank 4 in a static position is challenging, let alone Rank 8.
Finding a location with Rank 8 is very rare - likely less than 1% of a drive test in dense urban areas with sufficient multipath.
