Redirecting VoNR calls to VoLTE in poor conditions

Hello NR Experts.

Iis it possible to redirect VoNR call to VoLTE?

I mean, if in VoNR call user move to poor condition, is it possible to redirect call to VoLTE without failure?

What threshold set in NR to redirect data call / voice call to LTE?

Yes, it’s basic need of any concurrent network.

Threshold based on network condition.

Usually between -110 to -118 dBm.

Will there be call drop?

It also depends in UL.

Usually Uplink is the trouble, not Downlink.

VoNR will be degraded due to poor Uplink, so you may want to trigger IRAT HO / Redirection to LTE based on UL power or based on UL SINR (depending what feature vendor has).

No call will drop during transition from 5G to LTE.

Ok so call will not sustain here?

Call will smoothly be transferred from 5G to 4G.

Do you mean it’s like VoNR to VoLTE, call will go without any RTP packet drop / no mute call just like handover?

No RTP packet should drop without any mute.

End User will not experience it.

Like we have SRVCC to 3G for VoLTE call…

Do we have similar way for VoNR call movement to 4G in poor radio condition?

What we call it?

Is it SRVCC to 4G or some different terminology?

Check this: 5G: Voice over NR (VoNR) and Inter-RAT Handover from NR SA to LTE

And also this: What is the difference between iRAT Handover and SRVCC for 4G & 5G? - #30 by gdtelecomm

It is fully Ip based and less number of nodes in Core (only AMF and SMF but in 4G we have MME,SGW,PGW).

Core is REST API based interfaces between nodes.

Thanks!

So there is no SRVCC terminology from VoNR call to LTE movement.
