Redirection between 3G and 4G

Hello experts,

Can anyone explain the following situation? I attempted to activate redirection from 3G to 4G instead of handover, but the PS drop on 3G increased immediately after activation.

Does anyone have tips on how to reduce PS drop on 3G?

Note: The vendor is Huawei.

Hello there, maybe it’s more related to the call drop formula, since redirection can’t produce call drop because it takes effect in idle mode.

Check numerator and denominator in call drop formula.

Firstly
redirection typically occurs when the (UE) is in idle mode.
handover is occur when the UE is in connected mode

Secondly
You can adjust several parameters like Qrxlevmin , Qqualmin
But first look at timers, try to take an action on, parameter “Treselection “ Redirection Timer
set the timer value to 5 and keep your eyes on it

You mean , i have to check Qrxlivmin to guarantee the users who perform redirection, they have good radio condition

I found that PS call drop have many reasons: UuNoreply, bad coverage, congestion on target cell.

Tips :
. Check RTWP value;
. Check if there is no scrambling codes clashes in the cluster and clean dominance.
. An optimization could also solve the issue.
