One of the most common problems in telecom is throughput or data rate issues. So, in this session, I have covered Throughput Troubleshooting based on Drive Test Analysis. Usually it is difficult to root-cause whether the issue lies with RAN or Core or Congestion so I have tried to show how we can utilize the Drive Test information to find the root-cause.

Steps to Optimize Throughput in LTE /5G NR:
- What’s the Bandwidth configured in transport level
- Bad RSRP
- SINR, High interference, Lower CQI, Lower MCS, Low Modulation, BLER
- If Max No. of RRC connected active per cell is close/equal to max no of RRC connection supported
- High PRB usage, wrong earfcn Definition
- Rank Indicator
- Transmission Mode: MIMO (TM3) vs. TxD (TM2) vs. SIMO (TM1)
- MCS vs. number of assigned PRBs vs. assignable bits in scheduler
- CFI (number of OFDM symbols for PDCCH) vs. MCS vs. % scheduling
- High MCS vs No. of RBs Allocated
- DL grant continuous or not
- RLC retransmissions
