In an internal planning tool, we have the gNB transmit power is a user input. Path loss is calculated to determine the received power, and after accounting for interference and noise, the SINR is derived. The MCS is then looked up from 3GPP SE-MCS tables, and data is transmitted across allocated PRBs at this corresponding rate.
In this utility, the transmit power is configured independent of bandwidth. I am calculating the capacity for a 4T4R radio with 60W per port, or 240W total, over a 50 MHz band (for simplicity lets assume all 138 PRBs are PDSCH). Should I set the transmit power as 53.8 dBm (for 240W)? Or is this transmit power actually the EPRE, meaning should I set it as 53.8 - 10log(138) dBm?
