Hello 5G Experts.
Is anyone familiar with the overheatingAssistanceConfig setup?
Specifically, what should the UE’s behavior be once it receives a value for the “overheatingIndicatorProhibitTimer” in the RRC reconfiguration?
According to 38.331, the UE starts timer t345, but it’s unclear what actions the UE and gNB will take while this timer is running. Any insights?
The UE will wait for this specified amount of time before applying any new configurations received in the RRC reconfiguration, such as reducing the number of layers, CCs, etc.
I didn’t quite understand.
The UE has received the UE assistance information in the RRC reconfiguration, and now t345 is triggered. Will the UE apply the configuration received in that same RRC reconfiguration?
Or will the gNB send a new RRC reconfiguration with updated settings?
Alternatively, will the UE start receiving resource assignments with reduced layers, RBs, MCS, etc., on the physical layer?
The UE will ignore any new RRC reconfiguration with changes while the prohibit timer is active.
Okay, and what about the resource assignments from the gNB side?
Will the gNB start reducing resources after this RRC reconfiguration?
Is there any defined criteria for this behavior?
CUCP informs the DU, and then, through MAC CE, the UE and gNB reduce the MIMO layers and CA component carriers.
Okay, I actually observed this configuration when adding an SCell for 2CC during the RRC reconfiguration.
