Value of SINR below which UE will not be able to latch onto 5G network

Dear Experts.

Is there any threshold value of SINR below which UE will not be able to latch onto 5G network?

I’ve heard that in idle mode testing, if SS-SINR is less than -6 dB than UE will not be able to latch onto network.

But in field testing UE is able to latch even my SINR is less than -8 dB.

If you mean 5G NSA, UE reports RSRP, RSRQ and RS-SINR in measurement report and based on thresholds which is set on eNB will add 5G carrier, based on my experience its mostly based on RSRP value for adding 5G carrier, maybe it varies between vendors for considering values for adding 5G carrier.
