Can both VoNR and VoLTE use the RTP codec with EVS?
What is the difference between the codecs used in VoNR and VoLTE?
From what I recall, EVS was optional for VoLTE since it was an extended codec developed later.
VoNR, however, must support EVS and may even use it as the default codec.
When it comes to voice and video codecs, VoLTE and VoNR are identical.
Even for VoBB, there is no difference.
IMS is access-agnostic, and codec selection is based on the common set of codecs supported by both UEs and the network.
