All about technologies Q&A.
What are the grants? And what are the DL and UL grants parameters about?
First we should know about what is grants?
A) Agree to give, or do something that network/UE has asked for.
UL Grant is a specific physicall control channel information from Network (eNodeB) telling a UE “Now you can transmit data” (More accurately saying "You can transmit the data 4 ms after you got this grant).
UL grants having below information
- TB SIZE
- RNTI
- DCI
- RB allocation
- HARD-ID
- UCI
- Retransmission counts
- Transmission power.
- UL-SCH BLER, Throughput
- MCS,RI,PMI,CQI
2.DL grants having below parameters.
- DCI Format,DCI resources grants information.
- Resource block allocation.
- Transmission block sizes
- RNTI
- PDSCH(DL-SCH),PDCCH Info
- HARQ ID
- CRC(Cyclic redundancy check information)
Detailed DL grants parameters are:
- MCS
- SNR
- Pathloss(DB)
- Transport block rate(TB/sec)
- DL-SCH BLER
- DL-SCH Throughput
- Mean no of Resources blocks
- Retransmission counts
- Latency of radio interfaces
- No of grants from each modulation
- No of codewords
So, if above information may mismatch from DL and UL grants .It will also cause BLER.
