Hi Experts.
What can be cause of sudden RRC attempts in LTE?
Can it be priority?
It is in entire network.
Registration/authentication failure with CN is an example.
Hi Experts,
I have same question. We’ve noticed a sudden increase in RRC attempts due to MO signaling, leading to a low RRC SR. No operational changes have been made to the site.
Could this be caused by a specific user, or might there be another reason?
Please share any insights if you’ve encountered a similar issue.
If the increase is in a specific area, check for any events happening there, as user crowds can significantly impact KPIs.
Also, look for high traffic at nearby sites, as traffic might have shifted.
Focus on three key aspects: RRC user count, site availability, and PRB usage within that cluster.
Traffic remains the same, but there was a sudden increase in L.RRC.ConnReq.Att.MoSig at 3 AM, with no successful connections. Previously, RRC attempts with the MO signaling cause averaged 500/hr, but after the spike, they have remained at 3000/hr over the past five days. Occasionally, for 1–2 hours during the day, the attempts drop back to 500/hr, but then they spike again to 3000/hr.
I suspect this could be due to a specific user, but I haven’t been able to trace it yet. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or knows possible causes?
If it’s caused by a single user, it should be linked to a specific site. Is that the case here?
If the issue is confirmed to be tied to a specific site, sector, or cell, try resetting the NE first and check if the problem is resolved before proceeding with tuning.
It’s affecting one sector of the site, but similar behavior is also appearing on random cells across the network.
