ITL means interleaver
-
It’s multiplexer and demultiplexer
-
Used to combine and separate even and odd WDM channels
-
It has 2 types :
-
ITL U
-
ITL B
- U is unidirectional
- B is bidirectional
-
It can combine even / odd channels spaced by 100 GHz to 50 GHz
-
It’s recommend for upgrade scenarios and expansion
-
It can be connected between optical amplifier and Multiplexer or SFD
-
Note : SFD is static filter multiplexer and demultiplexer
-
WR is wavelength router
-
It’s a very important WDM system block
-
Used to add / drop and pass through channels in WDM, network
-
When the traffic enter the WR , it can be directed flexibily to any direction
-
It can contain WSS ( wavelength selective switch )
-
WSS responsible for traffic routing
-
WR can be controlled by software remotely
-
It contain add ports n, drop ports and THRU ports for passing through traffic for aggregated channels
