Below is for EcIo but should be applicable on EC aswell.

Question: What is the Difference between Agg.Active EC/Io and Categorized EC/Io A1 ?
Answer: Categorized values correspond to the actual cell measurements (‘Categorized Ec/Io:A1’ to ‘Categorized Ec/Io:A6’ correspond to up to 6 strongest active set Ec/Io cell measurements). Aggregated metrics are constructed/derived by adding up actual cell measurements in linear (dB or dBm) domain, in case of ‘Agg. Active’ metrics, active set measurements are summed up to give users a measure of active set gain (i.e. the effect of UE being connected to multiple serving cells at a time).
In the example below, UE is connected to 3 serving cells and aggregated AS Ec/Io is -0.3 dB for the very first data sample, calculated by summing up individual active set Ec/Io values (-4.5 dB, -4.5 dB and -6.5 dB) in linear domain and converting it back to dB.
