With FDD NR bands, which RACH format widely used: short or long?
I advised to use short format (Format 0) in Urban areas because we need lower latency in less distance from UE ↔ gNB.
Long format is helpful on Rural or sub urban areas.

As per my understanding, if you have low band like 700 or 850.
They are considered as coverage layer so 1.25 kHz is for that or 5 kHz for Capacity layer like PCS AWS1 or 3.
I summarize in this way that the long preamble format 4 with both 1.25 kHz and 5 kHz SCS is used to provide flexibility in large-cell deployments, ensuring the correct balance between coverage and capacity.

Long format. FDD bands usually are low frequency bands, so long formats are more suitable. Short formats are usually used in TDD bands, as they can only occupy several symbols.
